Emma Fringuelli

Journalist & Photographer

There's nothing better than a good story. In my time working as a journalist and photographer, I've learned the impact of stories and what happens when you tell them.

Reporting

I don't just write about the news, I make it.

As a reporter at Essex Media Group, I wrote over 100 articles across seven publications—one daily, three weeklies, and three quarterly magazines.

Additionally, I was a founding reporter at Marblehead Weekly News, which launched in 2022.

I have covered a range of topics from breaking news to personal interest, local and state politics to international social debates.

Readers of my work include community members, elected officials, and even people just passing through town. I am honored to be able to provide accurate, timely, and meaningful works for all of them.

News

In the summer of 2022, a handful of us in the newsroom of Essex Media Group had a crazy idea: let's start a new print newspaper. That crazy idea became Marblehead Weekly News, a youthful and vibrant paper that is created for readers in partnership with them.

I opened the inaugural edition with a commentary on what it means to start a newspaper and get to know a community.

I also started the series titled "Historic Building of the Week," which helps Marblehead residents learn more about their town through architectural history.

Photography

Photography used to be a hobby for me until I realized the power the perfect photo has.

Since that realization, I've shot portraits, events, sports, and more for various publications.

Here is a selection of some of my favorite work.

Sports

I have shot more than a full year of sports, including American football, basketball, gymnastics, hockey softball, and lacrosse.

I have photographed sports in every setting, from youth basketball at a city park to the High School Girls Hockey Championship at TD Garden.
